Mayuran Tiruchelvam (Founder – Writing/Producer)

Mayuran Tiruchelvam is a screenwriter and producer for film and television. He is a Sundance Institute Creative Producing Fellow and Film Independent Fellow.

Mayuran wrote and co-produced the noir-thriller The Girl is in Trouble executive produced by Spike Lee and directed by Julius Onah, selected for the Tribeca All Access program and released by eOne in 2015.

Along with producing partner Gerry Kim, he produced To Be Takei– a portrait of actor and activist George Takei (Star Trek), which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival; Across the Sea (winner, Audience Award, 2015 Slamdance Film Festival) a Turkish-U.S. romantic drama; coming-of-age thriller My First Kiss and the People Involved (2016 LA Film Festival), and the documentary The Untold Tales of Armistead Maupin (Audience Award, 2017 South by South West) which premiered on PBS Independent Lens and Netflix in 2018.

In addition to his writing and producing, Mayuran works as a freelance story and script consultant, pre-production consultant, and line producer in New York and Los Angeles.

Mayuran is an adjunct assistant professor in the graduate film programs at Columbia University in New York and Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.
